Lin Zhi Ling and Jerry Yan have always been linked to a relationship. The widespread media coverage over this rumored relationship put Lin Zhi ling into the media and entertainment spotlight, when previously she was an unknown model, Zhi ling went on to host the Golden Horse Awards in the end of the same year. Zhi ling charming and memorable hosting of the Golden Horse Awards made her a well known name outside of Taiwan. Zhi ling enjoyed a popularity and fame upshot of her career within a very short period of time. Numerous hosting and endorsement offers was given to Zhi Ling and media reports of Zhi Ling were on a regular basic.

However in 2006, rumors began that Zhi Ling and Jerry Yan had separated as the couple were too busy in their own work commitments and had drifted apart.

Zhi Ling and jerry Yan are both in Catwalks Modeling agency and that was the start of their relationship when both were unknown models.

Jerry Yan and Zhi Lin have "underground" relationship, which very common in entertainment business as celebrity couples do not want their relationships affairs to be known by the media and fans.

To add more fuel to the rumors, Zhi Ling and Jerry yan has been spotted or photograph going out together many times such as movies outings, however both Zhi Ling and Jerry Yan explained that there were other friends around as well.

Lin Zhi ling was photographed with Jerry Yan late at night & leaving Jerry Yan's home at 8.00 am the next day. Zhi ling and Jerry Yan did not deny but explained that they just spent the time chatting and watching dvds movies.

Then news came out that Zhi Ling was getting married to a businessman from Hong Kong. However the marriage seems to have been a false promise as several speculated time line were missed and Zhi Ling remained tight lipped about her relationship status. Meanwhile during a concert In Japan, Jerry Yan was reported to have cried and translated as saying "Zhi Ling was the one he love the most." This causes confusion on whether it was a slip of the moment by Jerry Yan or there was error in the translation. The most probable conclusion seems to be that Jerry Yan and Lin Zhi Ling were a couple but have broken up now. Whether Zhi Ling and Jerry Yan will be back in a relationship together remains to be seen.
